Trip World (3DS): COMPLETED!

On my 3DS home screen, the first “page” of icons is set to be “currently playing, and not yet completed games”. And some other things like Streetpass thingy and the Nintendo Video app. But mainly games I’ve not completed. Completed titles (and games I’ve given up on, demos, other apps, and stuff) are squirrelled away on other pages. Trip World has sat on page one for Far Too Long Now. More than 18 months, in fact. Unplayed because I got …

SteamWorld Build (Switch): COMPLETED!

I do love the SteamWorld series of games. And the world they’re all set in. Of course I was going to get this, although my interest was slightly tempered by the fact it’s the first SteamWorld game not made by the core staff of the previous ones. Would that be OK? I’m pleased to reveal, that yes. The style, humour and world have all come out unscathed. The references to other events in the series – particularly SteamWorld Dig 2 …

Bit.Trip Presents… Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien (Wii U): COMPLETED!

As it turned out, I was still on World 4, and not World 5 as I though. Still, I was close to the end of World 4, and World 5 was indeed the final world, so I wasn’t that far from complete. Now I’m even less far from complete, having completed it. I may have mentioned it’s hard. Oh boy is it hard. I’m not sure it actually got harder on the final world (aside from throwing me a bit …

Bit.Trip Presents…Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien (Wii U)

Less than four pounds on the eShop? Don’t mind if I do, sir. Especially since I had eShop credit that I didn’t pay for. I liked the original Bit.Trip Runner, but it was so hard. I never got very far it – not even half way. It looked great and I loved the idea, but it was just too hard. This is also hard. Not quite too hard yet, and I’ve finished World 2 without as many fails as I was …

Sonic Triple Trouble (PlayPal): COMPLETED!

I finally got round to putting some decent batteries in my PlayPal today, meaning the screen was actually bright and the sound volume audiable. I played Alex Kidd In High Tech World for a bit, but somehow managed to get Game Over without warning so played Triple Trouble instead. It isn’t actually very good at all. The main problem (and the problem with most of the Game Gear Sonic titles) is the small area of actual level that you see …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Saturday evening again, and another trip to the cafe to see K.K. Slider. This time, he played me Senor K.K. The rest of the animals failed to pester me for items of furniture and clothes today, which was nice, although I did have to give Purrl some more medicine as she’s still sick. Why does it always take so long for the animals to get well again? Perhaps there’s a clue in their dialogue when they say things like “I …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Turnip panic! Turnip panic! I had 1,250,000 bells worth (at 95 bells or so each) of turnips to sell, and didn’t get a decent price in the week at all. And today Nook was offering just 46 bells! Noooo! Luckily, my wife’s town had a price of 115 bells, which netted me a roughly 20% profit. Not the 4-500% I have been getting, but still – at least it isn’t a loss. It did take me some 45 minutes to …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Salvation! ar106 in on-sea (yes, I know that’s a stupid name :P) posted in the ugvh newsgroup that he had turnips being bought for 560 bells. So I popped over, and in five trips made around 5.5 million bells. ACE! Gave ar106 200,000 bells for his time, as well as about 30 lots of fruit. Also met Bruce, Lyzzy and Red there, as they were flogging turnips too. When I came home, I then popped out to visit my wife’s …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Turnip sellage! Fatality! Sort of! Skipai was online with his Nook’s buying for 513 bells each. I managed two trips, selling enough turnips to make over 1.5 million bells. Sadly, Skipai’s town was so busy it was hard to get back in, and he soon gave up with the resultant connection crashes. I still have a pile of turnips to sell, but I might get a decent price “locally” yet. While out visiting, I gained a jester shirt from Talisker, …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Turnip selling mad-dash tastic! Skipai in Holt (or Otterdom, as the Nintendo WFC insisted on calling it) had his gates open this evening, and his Nook’s was buying for 480 bells. Sadly, he was a bit busy with other visitors, so after queuing to get in, I then failed to get in at all for my second trip. Bah. Luckily, I made enough from one trip to offset any losses from not selling the rest (although I still might do …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Turnip day today, and after finding Joan (who kept going missing throughout the morning) I bought 5500 turnips for 110 bells each. This was mostly funded from my savings, but I also sold 150,000 bells of fruit too. After that, I stripped Nook of all his wares again, and then it hit noon, so the Fishing Tournement began. I caught loads of fish (including a clown fish, which I hadn’t previously added to the museum), but none of the ten …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Received a letter from Tangy today. She’s moved out. After I was so nice to her every day for a couple of weeks. Well, sod her. I hope she gets hit by a bus. With just today and tomorrow left to flog my turnips for a profit, I was a little concerned that I was (once again) running out of time. Even more so when Nook’s best price for the day was 54 bells each, second lowest ever, I think. …

Animal Crossing: Wild World (DS)

Hurrah! Nook actually gave me a good price today – 215 bells per turnip! That’s the highest it’s been in my town so far, I think. As a result, I sold all my turnips, and made a 100% profit. Went and visited Lyzzy in Scotton then, and bought a Modern Sofa from her shop and wrote on her noticeboard. She came back to my place (oo-er) to sell her turnips (although she forgot to bring them and had to go …
